Terex Cranes has announced the appointment of Jörg Müller as its senior sales manager Middle East – a role in which he will be in charge of leading the business strategy for Terex Cranes Middle East as well as its day-to-day activities.

Experienced in the region, Müller joins the company from Aurubis Middle East, a company specialised in flat-rolled products, where he was the general manager and senior sales manager. Prior to that he was Middle East sales manager for Liebherr tower cranes.

Carsten von der Geest, Terex Cranes VP for EMEAR sales and service, said: “Jörg joins us with a wealth of experience in the cranes industry and thorough knowledge of the business in this key market. He will be focused on our customers and make sure we are responsive to their requests.”

Müller’s appointment follows a range of significant appointments at Terex Cranes, including the announcement of Steve Filipov as the new president of the Terex division in late October.

Terex Cranes also recently named Ingo Nöske as the director of product management for crawler cranes and Dr Ascan Klein as the competency centre director for technology platforms.

Looking at Terex’s broader operations in the Middle East, October also saw Terex Equipment Middle East name Manlift Qatar as an official distributor for Genie aerial work platforms (AWP), telehandlers and Terex light towers in a move aimed at expanding its sales and service coverage on the peninsula.

In January, Gary Cooke also joined the local team as the regional sales manager for the AWP business segment – reporting to Charbel Kordahi, the managing director for the segment in the Middle East and South Africa, as well as Terex Material Handling (Demag cranes) pending the Konecranes handover in early 2017.
