Qatarian Vehicles Structure Factory (QVSF), the largest manufacturer of tipper bodies, trailers and semi-trailers in Qatar, has joined Swedish steel maker SSAB’s Hardox In My Body brand programme.
By using SSAB’s Hardox 450 abrasion-resistant steel in the production of its trailer and semi-trailer tipper bodies, QVSF is able to provide high strength bodies at a reduced body weight.
Hardox 450 provides good bendability and weldability with guaranteed impact toughness —which is ideal for the longevity of the tipper bodies’ operational life.
Its wear-resistance meanwhile helps to reduce downtime, thereby increasing fleet efficiency and increasing reliability.
Already a key SSAB partner in Qatar since 2012, QVSF was selected to join the Hardox In My Body brand programme to enhance the relationship between the organisations through joint marketing.
The programme membership also grants QVSF a quality certification from SSAB that acts as a guarantee to end users that the manufactured tipper body is made of genuine Hardox high-strength, wear-resistant steel.
Hany El Shafei, MD of QVSF, added: “We were among the first users of Hardox steel in our tipper bodies in Qatar, and this has proved to be a real advantage for our products and our business.”
SSAB also prioritises its technical support to customers who are part of the programme through technical workshops and training for sales personnel.
Ozgur Yalcin, area sales manager for SSAB Middle East, said: “QVSF is a very important regional partner for SSAB, and we have had a great relationship.
“By taking our partnership to the next level, QVSF will be able to significantly increase the quality of their products and services, and deliver more value to their customers through SSAB.”
