Expo Centre Sharjah is gearing up for the 13th edition of SteelFab, a steel working exhibition for the Gulf region focused on steel forming, welding, finishing and logistics for applications in construction, mining and other heavy segments.
Supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the event will be attended by 317 visiting exhibitors representing 900 local and international steel working brands, displayed across more than 26,000m2 of exhibiting space.
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah and chairman of UFI’s MEA chapter, stated that SteelFab Middle East is the leading and largest exhibition in the region specialised in steel fabrication for the heavy industries.
The event is being held at a time of positive business sentiments, as experts anticipate steel demand in the Middle East to increase to 55 million tonnes during 2017, with regional investments of $100bn.
Heavy infrastructure projects in the GCC are also expected to contribute to the segment, with these projects requiring the steel fabrication industry to in turn invest in advanced equipment to keep pace with the market.
Al Midfa added: “SteelFab has grown to become a barometer in the steel fabrication industry that provides vital networking opportunities for senior CEOs, producers, experts and businessmen in the heavy industries sectors under one roof.”
The event will also feature seminars and discussion boards on subjects ranging for engineering to material handling and the applications of modern technologies in the segment in areas such as spare parts and production pipelines.
This year’s exhibition will also be accompanied by the 2nd edition of “Fasteners World Middle East” – an entire pavilion at the exhibition for fixing and fastening technologies.
The event will open its doors for visitors from 16-19 January, 2017.
