Al Fahim Group firm Central Motors and Equipment (CME) has revealed it enjoyed significant growth in 2016 as it expanded geographically and grew its vehicle and workshop test equipment businesses.

The year saw CME increase its geographical coverage by 19%, its commercial vehicle business by 17% and its workshop test equipment sales by 25%, while the signing of several exclusive partnership agreements also contributed to rising revenues.

Ismaeel Hassen, GM of CME, said: “2016 was a tough year for the UAE, the region, and the world at large. However, despite these tremendous challenges, the automotive aftermarket industry is a fast growing sector in the GCC and CME was able to seize this opportunity for growth.

“We introduced brands such as Kendall Motor Oil and Cyclo into our portfolio, and we’ve geographically expanded some of our businesses into other districts within Abu Dhabi. We also have the highest growth in the workshop test equipment business across the MENA region!”

He added: “CME has invested time and money to establish a sound service platform that focuses on e-commerce to stay ahead of the competition, and I can assure you that in 2017 this will continue. There will be constant developments, all of which will put our clients first.”

Central Motors and Equipment (CME) has outlets in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai and Sharjah, distributing Michelin Tyres and Ducab cables in Abu Dhabi & Al Ain, and Bosch Automotive, Blaupunkt, Osram, Knorr-Bremse, Garrett, Skil Power Tools and Dremel across the UAE.

In partneship with ADNOC Distribution, CME has two other branches in Abu Dhabi at Al Bateen ADNOC Petrol Station and Embassies Area ADNOC Petrol Station.

Frank Bernthaler, CEO of Al Fahim Automotive, said: “The market is undergoing a huge transformation, which means we need to adapt by changing our ways of doing business to meet new market demands. This means, adding value and giving our customers an unequivocal experience.

“Moreover, as Al Fahim Group, we are looking at how we can contribute to Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision, which explicitly highlights the importance of sustainability and in reducing our carbon footprint. And, I am confident CME will cater to this transition and pave the way for others to follow.”
