Bahrain-based Sarens Nass Middle East is adding 15 five-axle Demag AC-130-5 all-terrain cranes to its fleet – some of the first Demag machines made by Terex since it resurrected the brand of all-terrain cranes at Bauma 2016.

The Demag AC 130-5 all-terrain cranes Sarens ordered are among the most compact units in the 130-tonne capacity class, with a total length of 14.3m and a carrier width of 2.75m.

The cranes come with a standard 60m-long main boom and can reach a maximum system length of 86.5m with additional main boom extensions.

Alhanoof Nass, director of Sarens Nass Middle East, said: “We have a significant number of new Demag all terrain cranes in our fleet.”

He noted that the company “has shown its continuous support [to Terex] and [belief] in the Demag line of products by ordering these cranes”. Nass added: “They manufacture products that are of superior quality”.

In all, the re-imagined Demag series consists of 11 all-terrain cranes, ranging from 100t to 1,200t in capacity, and seven lattice-boom crawler cranes, ranging from 400t to 3,200t in capacity.

Ludo Sarens, president of Sarens, commented: “The name Demag has always stood for quality in our group. Furthermore, Terex Cranes understands our needs and can provide tailored solutions when and where necessary.”

Sarens Nass Middle East was established in 2002 as a joint venture between Belgium-based Sarens Group and Bahrain-based Nass Group. It provides crane services and engineered heavy lifting.

Headquartered in Bahrain, the business has a fleet of 350 cranes and other equipment items, and works across the GCC with associates in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE.

Sarens proper recently ordered 18 five-axle Demag all-terrain cranes for its fleet: eight AC 100-4L, three AC 130-5, and seven AC 220-5 units.

Terex Cranes recently introduced two three-axle Demag all-terrain cranes, the AC55-3 and AC60-3, with lifting capacities of 55t and 60t, respectively.
