Al-Futtaim Misr for Car Trading, an Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company (FAMCO) company, has announced its partnership with Iveco commercial vehicles in Egypt and the launch of a new aftersales facility in the country.

An event in Cairo on 4 April marked the effective start-up of the partnership signed between Iveco and FAMCO, and was attended by 200 customers from across the country, representing government entities, construction contractors, and transport and supply chain operators.

Nigel Johnson, senior managing director for the FAMCO Group, noted that in the context of the changing requirements of fleet owners in the region, Iveco’s off-highway and on-highway ranges offer a superior choice for fleet owners.

Nabil Naga, general manager for FAMCO Egypt, said: “In line with Al-Futtaim Automotive Group’s philosophy of being the customers’ preferred choice, we have invested in a new facility in Abu Rawash in Cairo spread over 15,000m2.”

Naga added that with an eye to maximising the uptime of its customers’ trucks on site, FAMCO Egypt has also launched a mobile service facility “to reach our clients wherever and whenever they require”.

FAMCO is present as a supplier of commercial vehicles, construction and industrial equipment in six countries and represents 30 brands across several sectors, including trucks and buses, construction equipment, power generation and plant, and material handling and storage solutions.

Fabio De Serafini, business sirector for Iveco Africa & Middle East, added: “FAMCO’s network in Egypt provides us with business opportunities both in terms of sales and after-sales services, and we look forward to a establishing a long-term relationship with the firm.”

Iveco is present in the Middle East through 16 dealers and more than 29 sales points.

The company’s offering in the region straddles light to heavy ranges, with products ranging from the three- to seven-tonne Daily to the six- to 19-tonne Eurocargo and 16-tonne and upwards Trakker (dedicated to off-road missions) and Stralis.

In addition, the Iveco Astra brand builds off-road trucks, rigid and articulated dumpers, and speciality vehicles.

In June last year, FAMCO relaunched Iveco and Astra in Saudi Arabia over the course of three events in Dammam, Riyadh and Jeddah that attracted more than 650 industry professionals from across the country.
