Kuwait’s Jassim Transport & Stevedoring Co., or JTC, has placed an order for five Demag all-terrain cranes, including four four-axle Demag AC 100-4L units and one six-axle Demag AC 250-6 crane.

JTC provides contract logistics, ports management, equipment leasing and power rental services in Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and the five-unit order will a current fleet of approximately 20 different Terex and Demag crane models.

In terms of the capabilities introduced by the new cranes, the AC 100-4L all-terrain crane delivers the most compact chassis in its class, while the AC 250-6 boasts the longest main boom length in its class, with a length of 80 meters.

Adel Kohari, CEO of JTC, said the cranes will help the company deliver services in a greater variety of circumstances, noting: “The Demag AC 100-4L crane is extremely versatile, which means we can accomplish more lifts in less time than with similar sized units.”

He added: “This new purchase is in support of the various infrastructure development projects that JTC is currently executing within the oil and gas and construction industry.”

The order also comes after the equipping of the AC 100-4L crane by Terex Cranes with the IC-1 Plus control system, which delivers significantly improved lifting performance by dynamically calculating maximum lift capacities based on the slewing angle and counterweight configuration.

Furthermore, Terex Cranes has introduced a two-year comprehensive warranty as standard for all Demag mobile cranes purchases, doubling the length of the warranty compared to the previous agreement to include any and all defects in workmanship for 24 months.

Terex Cranes announced its return to the mobile crane market under the Demag brand at Bauma 2016, and the range has proved very popular with logistics and rental operators in the Middle East.

Kohari commented: “Also, Terex Cranes has an outstanding reputation for building quality and reliable cranes, and for providing fast aftermarket support. And, we are excited to see them bring back the Demag brand.”

Demag mobile cranes have also been recently ordered by Kuwait’s Integrated Logistics Company, Bahrain’s Modern Mechanical, Electrical and Transporting, and the Manama-based Sarens Nass Middle East.
