Al-Futtaim Motors has partnered with Dubai police for the Ministry of Interior’s “Summer Without Accidents” campaign which aims to promote road safety among residents in the UAE.
The campaign will also help educate motorists on summer-related accident causes in partnership with Toyota and Lexus through the use of the vehicle’s latest road safety technologies.
Both Lexus and Toyota cars provide a comprehensive suite of safety technologies that can minimise the probability of an accident, and reduce the consequences of a collision, according to a statement by Al Futtaim Motors.
Yousuf Al Raeesi, director of government affairs at Al-Futtaim Motors, said: “Using an advanced suite of technologies, our Toyota and Lexus cars come equipped with the most comprehensive safety features aimed at helping the driver avoid potential accidents, and lessen the consequences of a collision.”
Some key safety features include, depending on the model, incudes a pre-crash system, a combination of collision detection and collision preparation systems, dynamic radar cruise control which supplements the conventional system with a vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode and helps maintain a suitable distance from the preceding vehicle
Other features include lane-keeping assist which detects lane markings on the road and then provides information and steering assistance in accordance with the road and driving conditions.
Al-Futtaim Motors had earlier announced its partnership with Abu Dhabi Police and SAAED for the Prevention of Traffic Accidents in Abu Dhabi, to support their ‘Traffic Safety Awareness Initiatives & Events 2017’.
