The General Command of Civil Defence in the UAE has a new addition to its fleet of vehicles, courtesy of the Ministry of Interior.
Manufactured in Germany, the vehicle is equipped with a mobile operating room and will serve as an “accidents assistant”, state news agency, WAM, reported.
The new vehicle reportedly complies with all the requirements of the ministry. Its features include combined traffic monitoring systems, nationality and residence systems, information enquiry and accounts systems, and penal and accidents security systems.
Quoting Major General Jassem Mohammed Al Marzouqi, commander-in-chief of the Civil Defence, WAM noted that the vehicle will provide live broadcasts of incidents to the Civil Defence’s main operations room, and send images and videos directly through cell phone networks using a data package provided by the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, as well as through the satellites of Yahsat.
Al Marzouqi said that the new acquisition comes with five screens, four fixed cameras, a 7m-high mobile camera, and another external camera, in addition to IP telephones, a digital communication system, and a multi-use fax machine. It is also equipped with a meteorological station, which can be used to monitor weather conditions during an accident.
