Hormann has launched a new piece of safety equipment designed to prevent workplace injuries at loading bays.
In a statement, the company said that the new Wheelblocker locks lorries in place and keeps them from leaving the safe docking position, minimising the risk of accidents during the loading and unloading process.
According to Hormann, the manually operated system is equipped with a rotating arm lock, fold-out support pedestal, and an operating lever that can detect the working position of wheels.
An LED sensor signals when the vehicle has been secured and the status of the lorry is displayed in the hall along with a key switch that provides an override function for swap containers, the company added.
Commenting on the new product, Darius Khanloo, managing director at Hormann Middle East and Africa, said: “We understand the kind of accidents that can happen during the loading process, and we are committed to reducing them by creating innovative safety [equipment], such as the Wheelblocker.
“It is a vital product for any warehouse and it will go one step further to prevent loading bay accidents.”
The Wheelblocker is reportedly suitable for all common lorries.
