Al Naboodah Group Enterprises (ANGE) is beginning the academic year by providing 750 new school buses to operators including Emirates Transport, Dubai Taxi Corporation, and School Transport Services, alongside private schools.
The buses are being distributed through Swaidan Trading, the commercial vehicle and heavy equipment division of ANGE, and include both Ashok Leyland Falcon and Sunwin school bus models.
Buti Al Naboodah, deputy CEO of commercial for ANGE said: “Over the past 30 years, Al Naboodah has been a trusted partner, providing government bodies with school buses that meet the highest safety and operational standards for UAE students.
“Quality customer service and safety remain a priority, reinforcing the group’s commitment to best practices across all areas of our business.”
All the buses have also been tailored to the highest international school transport safety standards, as mandated by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA) and the Department of Transport.
Ajit Kumar, COO for commercial, transport and electrical at ANGE, added: “Through Swaidan Trading, ANGE represents some of the most trusted brands in the UAE. We go to great lengths in customising our school buses to meet safety standards while ensuring a superior level of comfort for students.”
An estimated 400,000 UAE school children are transported daily by buses distributed by ANGE.
Recently, Ashok Leyland also launched the Oyster, the first rollover- and front crash-compliant school bus designed and manufactured in the UAE at the OEM’s production facilities in Ras Al Khaimah.
The 33-seater bus also features Euro-3 turbocharged engines and a fully pneumatic brake system with anti-lock braking (ABS), and comes with super cooled air conditioning and built-in CCTV systems.
In terms of safety systems, it also has passenger door sensors to prevent accidental closure, auto fire suppression system, fire-retardant bus seats and roof hatches and emergency exits on all sides.
