Investment in building and infrastructure will help the heavy machinery trade over the coming year said speakers at this morning’s opening of the Saudi PMV Show and conference, currently underway in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Amr Khashoggi, VP of corporate affairs, Zahid Group said: “The economy, which is eager for increasing sustainable development, comes with increasing need for heavy equipment and vehicles.” He added that trade shows such as this had a vital role in supporting the developing infrastructure of the region.

Meanwhile, Dr. Faysal Alaquil, a director of business development at precast and steel supplier CPC remarked that the heavy investment in the roads, transport and construction of the Kingdom will assure the long-term security for PMV and construction related businesses.

Mark Dickson, Project Director of Madinah Knowledge Economic City said that it was ‘exciting to be involved’ with one of the Kingdom’s largest projects at this time.

The Saudi PMV Show runs from today until the 10th at Emaar’s Jeddah Gate in the city of Jeddah. Once officially opened, over 1000 live items of construction equipment, mobile and fixed plant as well as trucks, buses and other heavy vehicles will be on display, in what is said to be the exhibition of its type ever held in the Kingdom.
