Cranes and taxis get motorists revved up in Kuwait

With a few more days left until Eid, motorists are starting to feel the pinch as pressure mounts on streets and markets in Kuwait city.

The Kuwait Times reported that markets are even busier than usual, which is causing jams and highlighting ignorant driving, poor lane discipline and testing the patience of motorists.

A crane driver was fined when his machine blocked a street in the Hawalli district. Police were called and forced the driver to relocate the crane and reopen the road to traffic, while several incidents of parking in the middle of busy streets; close calls with taxis that pull out or simply fail to indicate and buses that stop anywhere, causing drivers behind to stop suddenly have tested the patience of drivers in the city.

Officials have asked drivers to be more considerate, and more patient of the mistakes of others during the run-up to Eid.
