Bahrain awards 12 tenders worth $98mn on infrastructure projects

These tenders are part of the ministry's plans to develop the infrastructure to keep up with investment activities and urban development

Bahrain’s Sheikh Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, has confirmed the awarding of 12 tenders for various projects in May.

The total cost of these tenders amounts to $30,413,743. Furthermore, 18 tenders have been announced in Bahrain for projects estimated to cost $98,067,596.

Sheikh Mubarak explained that these awarded and announced projects align with the ministry’s plans and programs aimed at developing infrastructure to support investment activities, urban development, and overall economic growth. These initiatives also contribute to the government’s goals of enhancing public services.

Within the road sector, four projects have been awarded, with a total cost of $11,748,206. These projects include the improvement of Sheikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa Street, Road No. 5441 in the Qalali area (Complex 254), road rehabilitation in Isa Town (Complex 816), and time-bound contracts for road signs spanning 2023-2024.

These endeavors aim to reduce traffic congestion and enhance road safety on main and sub-main roads.

In the sewerage sector, six projects have been awarded, amounting to $18,159,572. These projects involve the construction of sewerage networks in the Hidd area (Complexes 109 and 113), the establishment of main sewerage and treated sewerage water lines to serve East Sitra Island, the construction of a sewerage network in the Barbar area (Complex 522), and the sewerage project in the Qaryah area (Complex 551).

These initiatives contribute to providing a healthy and safe environment for citizens and residents, expanding the reach of essential sewerage services.

Two tenders, totaling $473,248, have been awarded in the buildings and maintenance sector. Notably, these include consultancy services for the design and supervision of the Karzakan beach and promenade project.
