Bahrian officials have confirm that a section of the Bahrain Metro Project will be operational within two years, requiring partnerships with domestic and international businesses, business news portal Zawya wrote in a report.

The first phase of the project, called Bahrain Metro Phase 1, will be developed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the Zawya report said citing Indian media.

DMRC will analyze four metro lines in two phases, including two interchanges at Bab Al Bahrain and Al Farooq intersections.

The initial metro line will span 13 km, connecting Bahrain International Airport to Seef Mall via Airport Avenue and King Faisal Highway. It will feature nine stops. The second metro line, covering 15.6 kilometers, will run between Juffair and Isa Town, linking Salmaniya, Zinj, Tubli, and other areas through its 11 stations.

The Ministry of Health has also unveiled plans to complete the Qalali Health Centre, expand the Salmaniya Medical Complex, and construct new clinics. These initiatives, costing BD1.5 billion, will be funded through various sources, the report said.
