Realty major Azizi Developments announced the plans to build the world’s second-tallest building in Dubai, its CEO Farhad Azizi said in a social media post.

An upcoming construction project at a prime location on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai is expected to result in the creation of the world’s second-tallest building, as disclosed by Azizi. Though specific details such as the building’s name and exact height have not been disclosed at this time, the development is generating significant anticipation within the industry.

In an announcement last November, the blueprint for an upcoming tower was unveiled.

Back in November, an unveiling of the blueprint for an upcoming tower took place, suggesting that this forthcoming skyscraper may surpass the height of both the Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2,227.3 ft), and the majestic Shanghai Tower (2,073.4 ft).

The tower is set to join the ranks of iconic skyscrapers in Dubai, including the renowned Burj Khalifa, Azizi said in a twitter post.

The Burj Khalifa, completed in 2010, stands as a monumental symbol of architectural excellence and a source of awe and wonder for the world. As the tallest building globally, it reaches a staggering height of 828 meters (2,717 feet), solidifying Dubai’s ambitious vision for extraordinary and iconic structures.

Designed by the esteemed architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) from Chicago, the Burj Khalifa’s impressive design seamlessly blends Islamic and modern architectural elements. Its sleek silhouette and unique setbacks take inspiration from the Hymenocallis desert flower, resulting in a breathtaking visual masterpiece.

Constructing the Burj Khalifa required groundbreaking engineering feats. Its reinforced concrete structure, combined with a steel spire at its pinnacle, ensures unparalleled stability and resilience against adverse weather conditions and seismic forces.

Inside the Burj Khalifa, a diverse array of functions harmoniously coexist within its 163 floors, including luxurious residences, corporate offices, the prestigious Armani Hotel Dubai, and observation decks. The tower effectively serves as a vertical city, catering to the needs of its residents and visitors alike.

At the top of the Burj Khalifa, the observation deck “At the Top” offers unparalleled panoramic vistas of Dubai and beyond. From this vantage point, visitors can marvel at the city’s captivating skyline, the vast Arabian Gulf, and the expansive desert landscape.
