Al Masane Al Kobra Mining Company (Amak), the leading Saudi miner, has announced that its new plant – mainly aimed at production of copper and zinc concentrates – is in its final stages of construction.
According to the Saudi Miner, its new plant will primarily focus on producing copper and zinc concentrates, is nearing completion.
Currently, preparatory works are underway to initiate the cold commissioning of the processing plant, Amak said in a filing to the Saudi stock exchange.
As per the filing, the construction progress is on schedule, and the company anticipates commencing all experimental tests by the end of the fourth quarter.
Amak also highlighted that the new plant is specifically designed to process the Moyeath Orebody, with a capacity to handle 400,000 tonnes per year.
The initial phase of commercial production is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024.
