Hamriyah Free Zone Authority aims to attract steel fabrication & metal companies through Steel Fab 2020

The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) is participating in SteelFab 2020 to highlight Sharjah’s investment environment and the competitive advantages provided by the Emirate to steel and metal companies.

Running at Expo Centre Sharjah from January 13 to 16, SteelFab features more than 300 exhibitors from 35 countries and over 700 international brands of machinery.

Currently, more than 180 regional and international steel fabrication and metal companies operate in the Hamriyah Free Zone.

Saud Salim Al-Mazrouei, director, HFZA, said: “HFZA’s participation comes in line with its strategic plans to learn more about the latest innovations and technologies in this sector and to promote itself as a premier hub for steel fab companies. It is also to boost our investors’ competitiveness by holding meetings with companies interested in their services and products,” said Al-Mazrouei.

According to a recent report by the Research & Markets titled “UAE Steel Industry Outlook 2020”, the consumption of metal and steel in the country is expected to grow by 8% between 2016 and 2020.

“HFZA offers unparalleled advantages for steel fabrication and metal companies, including but not limited to advanced infrastructure, cutting-edge facilities, and warehouses, and strong land, air, and sea connectivity. We are inviting all investors and key players of the metal and steel companies to take advantage of our wide-range services tailored to cater to their needs and add value to their products’ quality and efficiency. We are looking forward to a successful edition of SteelFab 2020 to build on the success of previous editions,” added Al-Mazrouei.

Visitors to SteelFab 2020 can expect to find the latest products and innovations in the fields of metal forming, surface preparation, finishing, grinding, cutting, machinery manufacturing and other relevant engineering disciplines. Apart from its special focus areas such as wear resistant, welding & cutting, machine tools and tube & pipe, in a first, SteelFab will launch the Best Welder competition, in association with Lincoln Electric and Middle East Industrial Training Institute, aiming to promote excellence in workmanship. The contest will be held during the show and winners awarded a slew of prizes. An integral part of SteelFab since the past five years, the Fasteners World Middle East will also be held concurrently with SteelFab.
