Last year, Al-Bahar, the authorized Caterpillar dealer in the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain, introduced the Cat GC range in its markets starting with the the 950 GC wheel loader and 330 GC medium excavator. The company has now expanded the GC range of excavator with the large 336 GC and 345 GC models.
Specific customer requirements that were taken into account for the development of the GC range included improvements in bucket capacity, cycle time, power, fuel economy, stability, and attachment compatibility. As a result, the GC range achieves lower fuel consumption and lower maintenance costs, compared to standard Cat models.
One of the ways Caterpillar has lowered the costs of the GC range is by standardizing the engine, for example, with the Cat C7.1 diesel engine which meets Stage IIIA (Tier 3) emission standards and features a fuel-injection system specifically designed for fuel available in emerging markets.
Al-Bahar expects beyond 10% growth in the excavator market share during 2020, driven by mega projects like railways and oilfield services in the region.
A statement from the company read: “With the next generation of Cat excavators—built to drive down cost per hour, while raising the bar of performance and fuel efficiency, we are helping customers reduce their TCO. Along with industry leading machines, support from Al-Bahar in terms of exhaustive service options and asset utility, customers can expect more value from their Cat excavators.
