Al Faris Group recently completed two major power plant expansion and upgrade projects in the UAE. Both the jobs involved transportation, lifting and installation of various components such as heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) modules, condensers, steam drums, generators and tanks. The projects were completed in different stages over a period of six months.
Power plant project 2: Fifteen modules were installed using a Liebherr 1000t crawler cranes, and 270 customized stools were manufactured in-house for storage of the modules on-site.
At one of the sites, Al Faris Group completed over 50 heavy tandem lifts including installation of HRSG modules. The entire project was carried out with utmost safety and compliance to site regulations. Lifting of all the various components was completed using 800t, 650t, 400t and 250t crawler cranes, and transportation was completed using conventional hydraulic trailers and self-propelled modular trailers.
For the other project, a total of 15 modules ranging from 160t to 353t were installed using a Liebherr 1000t crawler crane. The transportation was completed using conventional hydraulic trailers and self-propelled modular trailers. Al Faris fabricated 270 customized stools in-house for storage of the modules on-site.
