Spain-based Alba-Marcel Group offers cost-effective material and people transport solutions for all types of low, medium and tall buildings and the restoration, repair and construction of all types of façades.
Alba mast climbing platforms have load capacities up to 5,000kg, maximum height of 250m, and maximum speed of 10m/min. The PEC range, in particular, is suited to façade rehabilitation or closure works, being able to cover the perimeter of a building with circular, corner and zigzag configurations, with extensions of up to 2.6m. These platforms, made of galvanized steel, present benefits in terms of safety that facilitate work in adverse weather conditions. Compared to other lifting alternatives, the PEC work platforms reduce installation and disassembly time, as well as labour times, which increases productivity. To double the working capacity on the PEC 130 and PEC 150 models, an additional work platform (double decker) can be installed on the same mast, with an anti-collision safety system, to work at double height at the same time.
Alba passenger and material hoists have load capacities up to 2,000kg, maximum height of 250m, and maximum speed of 60m/min. The EDC 2000, for example, is available in double cab and is raised by a square mast, which gives it high stability and enables it to work simultaneously with other passengers and materials hoists. The EDC 2000 is also compatible with the PEC 130 and PEC 150 work platforms.
Alba material hoists have load capacities up to 2,000kg, maximum height of 250m with twin cabin on a single mast, maximum cage dimensions of 3.2×1.4m, and maximum speed of 20m/min. The hoists also include an updated emergency brake with automatic recovery that saves time in the restarting of the elevator.
Compared to tubular scaffolding, Alba claims its mast climbing work platforms to reduce installation and removal time by 90%, reduce work time by 40%, and improve work safety, significantly.
Ahmad Wraikat, regional manager, Kanoo Cranes, the exclusive dealer of Alba in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain, explains the features of Alba machines that makes them superior to other brands in the region.
“Alba hoists and mast climbers are easier to install and dismantle compared to other similar machines. They are also support higher speeds, load capacities and wind speeds. Alba’s mast sections are stronger and offer more stability that other brands because of their square mast section design. The standard safety features on Alba machines include load sensors and stability sensors that help prevent overloading and indicate faults to prevent accidents,” says Ahmad.
“As construction activity picks up in the region, demand for hoists and mast climbers will increase for both functional and decorative façade work. As the industry evolves and companies look for cost efficient alternatives to purchasing and maintaining equipment, Kanoo Cranes is also offering Alba equipment for hire,” he adds.
