Solve IT has announced that it is to be the master distributor of the ‘Tough Tracker’ monitoring system across the Middle East.
In addition to the United Arab Emirates, the Dubai-based technology firm will sell the product in Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
The device, which is manufactured in the United Kingdom by Concirrus, enables users not only to track their equipment, but also to monitor the number of hours it has been used.
Whilst the product has been designed primarily for the construction and plant hire sectors, it can also be used to track trailers and agricultural equipment. And Solve IT claims it will assist with customers’ asset and workforce management in order to boost their efficiency.
“The Tough Tracker is a unique product that is tougher than the equipment that it is fixed to,” commented Solve IT founder Justin Tisbury. “Once welded or bolted on, it is very difficult to remove, and will enable you to locate your equipment through an easy-to use website.
“The online system will allow you to set up boundaries, so if your equipment moves outside of an area – or between certain times – then you will get an SMS or e-mail sent to you,” he added. “The product is also sensitive to vibration, so it is easy to determine, for example, if a generator has been used off-hire.”
The Solve IT chief claims the system is virtually indestructible, and he and his colleagues have gone to extreme lengths to prove the robustness of Tough Tracker.
“We have even tested it at the firing range,” said Tisbury. “Bullets simply bounce off.”
Tough Tracker features an internal gyroscope and composite housing that is stronger than steel. The system also utilises a low-consumption battery with a life of five to 10 years.
