Camso has acquired Eurowheel, a Belgium-based supplier of tyre presses and small runs of wheels.

Formerly known as Camoplast Solideal, the Canada-headquartered firm, which produces a range of off-road tyres, wheels, and tracks, stated that the acquisition will bolster its service offering and wheel manufacturing capacity across Europe.

Located in Herenthout, Belgium, Eurowheel manufactures wheels, presses, and tools for distributors and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Gregory Fossey, vice president of Camso’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) aftermarket division, commented: “This acquisition will allow Camso to produce a greater volume and a wider range of wheels for resilient and press-on tyres.

“As a niche player in the off-the-road market, Camso aims to provide products and services to OEM and aftermarket clients for special wheels and small order quantities; needs not met by any other company.”

The addition of Eurowheel’s manufacturing capacity will offer greater flexibility on wheel production, leading to shorter lead times, according to Camso.

Under the terms of the acquisition, Camso assumes responsibility for Eurowheel’s employees, facility, inventory, and equipment.

“We will continue to build upon the expertise and processes that Eurowheel customers have grown accustomed to,” added Fossey. “We are confident the shared knowledge of the two teams will continue to provide a competitive and reliable wheel offering to customers.”

The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed.
