Dubai-based Rental Solutions & Services (RSS) has purchased more than 300 generator sets from UK-headquartered equipment manufacturer, JCB.

The $11m (AED40.4m) order is the largest yet for JCB Power Products’ RS range of gensets, which are specifically designed for use within the global rental sector.

The gensets’ outputs range from 60kVA to 500kVA, and feature JCB’s LiveLink for Power telematics system.

Commenting on the deal, Garry McMahon, operations director for RSS, said: “We have a choice of generator suppliers in the Middle East, but we chose JCB Power Products as its range is the best rental selection we have seen.

“The brand presence of JCB in our region also ensures that our customers know we are working with quality equipment and providing the best possible back-up.”

In conjunction with authorised JCB dealer, Muscat Overseas Group, RSS’s first five units have already been dispatched to Oman. The gensets are being used to provide standby power and support for an oil and gas company operating in the sultanate.

Jonathan Garnham, managing director of JCB Power Products, said: “We are delighted to have won our biggest export order of 2017 from one of the Middle East’s biggest providers of standby power.

JCB Power Products launched its RS rental range just a year ago, and it is proving extremely successful in a very competitive global market where JCB provides unrivalled service and support,” he added.

RSS will use its JCB units across the Middle East, in markets such as Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

The gensets will be supported by JCB’s regional network of dealers.
