GENAVCO has installed a Stow Atlas Shuttle Racking System for Mir Hashem Khoory (MHK) Cold Stores in Dubai.
Manufactured by Belgium-based Stow International, the pallet shuttle is the first semi-automated racking system that GENAVCO has supplied in the UAE.
Commissioned as part of a $600,000 (AED2.2m) contract, MHK will use the Stow Atlas system to optimise the storage of frozen foods, thus ensuring high throughput.
The pallet shuttle, which was manufactured by Belgium-based Stow International, is the first semi-automated racking system to be supplied by GENAVCO in the UAE.
Commenting on the system, MHK Cold Stores’ operations manager, Mr Khatib, said: “The Stow Atlas pallet shuttle is a deep-lane storage and retrieval system. A shuttle is used to move pallets with a specifically designed racking structure, thus optimising the storage capacity and allowing room for 6,040 pallet spaces.”
The Stow Atlas pallet shuttle was commissioned in January 2017. The system was supplied and installed by GENAVCO in MHK Cold Stores’ Ras Al Khor facility.
