India-based manufacturer of lubricants Siddharth Grease and Lubes Pvt. Ltd. (SGL), has opened its first plant in the Middle East in the inner port of Sharjah’s Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA). The 135,000 sqft facility has been set up with an investment of AED50 million and registered under Trinity Lubes & Greases FZC, a fully owned subsidiary of SGL.
SGL is specialized in blending lubricants and making greases for brands such as Castrol, Valvoline, Total, and HPC. Trinity Lubes & Greases, in its initial stage, will have an annual production capacity of 48,000 litres for automotive, industrial and construction lubricants, and special greases for electric vehicles.
Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, said: “SGL choosing the UAE and HFZA, in particular, to construct its new plant in the region is a yet another testament to the efficiency of petrochemical industries sector in the zone. This is attributed to the availability of world-class logistical facilities along with a port with a depth of 14 meters, which enhances HFZA’s position as a major center of production and export.”
Siddharth Sachdeva, managing director, Trinity Lubes & Greases FZC, commented: “We aspire to further expand in the Middle East, North and South African markets by taking advantage of the strategic location of HFZA and the direct access to the inner harbour, allowing us to draw base oils directly from barges. The sophisticated infrastructure and outstanding logistical services of HFZA provide efficient ways to facilitate access to regional and global markets.
