The UAE’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has announced official holiday for for the government sector for Eid-Al Fitr 2023
Public sector employees will get a four-day weekend, from Thursday, April 20 till Sunday, April 23. Employees will resume work on Monday, April 24.
The official Eid Al Fitr holiday in the UAE to start from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3. Shawwal 1. However, as per astronomical calculations, the break is likely to be for four days.
According to the International Astronomical Centre, the first day of Eid Al Fitr is expected to fall on Friday, April 21, in most Islamic countries. The break begins a day prior as per these calculations.
Earlier this week, UAE announced early salaries for employees ahead of Eid Al Fitr 2023. The directive comes from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Following this, comes Eid al Adha – which is expected to be commemorated on June 28, 29 and 30. If this comes to pass, there will be four consecutive public holidays at the end of June – from 27 Tuesday 27 to 30 Friday.
